Each transfer of water requires collaboration with many parties. We need to know from watershed groups what rivers or reaches are degraded. We need to know from licensees about water surplus to their needs. We need to know from environmental groups where the aquatic system needs a boost.
We need the support of the Crown in the interpretation and application of the Water Act. We need the support of individuals in the community to encourage conservation and contribution to the Trust, both in the form of water and financial contributions. Above all, we want to work with each of these interest groups to ensure that we recognize the balance of water for nature, people and industry, ensuring a sustainable Alberta for all.
